Emeline

For many Coatls, the sky provides everything. Family, safety, food, and love. It has been that way as long as anyone can remember, and most Coatls never leave it. The bed in the clouds, they hunt the animals that come on the wind, the create families and whole lives up there. Their feet never have to touch Earth.

It is said that are made from clouds. This is the reason the need the sky so badly. They are literally a piece of it. Emeline had been taught that her whole life.

She had always been so curious, though. Watching the world below. It was so different then her own. Filled with animals she had never seen before. The familiars of the Coatls were tiny, and flighty. Down there they were huge, or strong, or a million different things.

A rift started to form in her own flight, like it did in many Coatl clans across the world. Should they remain in the clouds, safe. or brave the world to help their Dragon brethren fight the human infestation?

Going down there meant certain death, but it also meant aid in the dragon's time of need. There had long ago, so long ago, been a time it wouldn't have been a choice. A time when dragon support was offered to another without hesitation.

Her clan decided to form a single unit, one group to send to the Earth. It would take volunteers, and Emeline was the very first to offer herself.

She had a yearning to see the world, to experience the babbling brooks, the tall trees, the dragons she had never met before. Accompanying her, were only 5 other dragons, along with their familiars. One of them, her best friend.

So they crashed to Earth. It was the most exhilarating moment of her life, falling all the way down to a land that had once been forbidden to her. And she never once regretted her choice.

But she soon discovered the ground was not the haven she had once thought it to be. The green grasses hide poisonous plants, the giant animals hid carnivores, the babbling brooks hid currents strong enough to bury you in their depths.

She still loved it, though. Everything was so different, and an adventure. Her soul craved adventure like none before. They found other units of dragons training, from all different places. They were relearning how to fight.

In them, she met Pasley, another Coatl driven to the Earth. He had been searching for his Mother, a dragon who had left for the cause when he was young. He was much shyer then her, and more thoughtful. She acted on impulse, and liked to feel everything.

Though, they had their differences, she found him immensely charming. And he liked her spirit, her sense of adventure. It reminded him of his own Mother, another free spirit.

And so, one night they left together. They left behind their unit, and Emeline left her own friend behind.

They were searching for Mothers, and for adventure.
