The Bringer of Spring

"I want this place to be home for our hatchlings, and anyone else who was like me, and needed a home."

Vikenti grew up in a valley full of beautiful flowers. Her favorites were the roses. The valley was a peaceful place were dragons of all kinds were welcome. She grew up with a skydancer named Mercury. The two were inseparable, never leaving the other's side. Even before they had fully grown, they knew that they would be mates, for there had never been anyone else they could love more than the other. But one day, the peaceful valley was struck with the worst storm it had ever seen. The winds were so strong, they blew all the dragons miles away, they were impossible to fly in. When Vikenti awoke, she was far from her home. She went back to search for her friends and family, but the valley had been destroyed. Trees were uprooted and striped of leaves and the entire valley was flooded. The only thing that remained of Vikenti's beloved roses were some soaked petals floating on the flooded waters. She began her search for the other dragons that had lived in the valley, including her Mercury. She passed from clan to clan, territory to territory. She found many of her friends had found good homes with other clans. She was glad her friends were safe, but she still hadn't found Mercury. One day, the spring breeze lead her to the tower cliffs by the sea and the clan that lived among them. As she explained her story, a bright glowing shape shot from the waters below and there he was. Mercury had been swept away by the stormy waters to the sea, leaving him with no memory of were he came from. But when he saw Vikenti, everything came rushing back. The two were reunited once more and decided to stay with the clan by the sea, and now live a happy life nurturing their hatchlings.
