Anomaly had a large family. He was born to a peaceful
Clan, hidden in the bamboo woods in the Windflight,
peacefully worshipping the Windsinger and celebrating
their own freedom to go whereever they want, whenever
they want.

By the time he hatched, his mother - a guard - and his
father - a scholar - already had over twelve other children
in different ages, all gathered around the nest to watch
the youngest - Anomaly - hatch. From that day on, Anomaly
never had a calm minute, his family was loud, even for
Winddragons and large, even for dragonkin. It soon became
Anomalys duty to care for his siblings despite him being the
youngest, for he seemed to have a natural talent for this.

Everything was fine, chaotic but fine for the young boy,
until the day before the famous festival, when the world
showed her loyalty to the Windsinger for a whole week.
Anomaly was about to gather his siblings when he couldn't
find his oldest brother and sister. Confused and close to
panic, he searched the whole lair but he found nothing.
Scared for what his parents might think of him, Anomaly
returned to them only hesistantly, only to find them
cheeful as ever, announcing proudly that his siblings
were among the exalted.

That time, Anomaly did not understood what it meant to
be one of the exalted, his parents made him believe that
it was a great honor and the best thing that could happen
to a dragon. He believed them, how could he not, they were
his loving, slightly odd parents, surely they meant only well.
It was later, when he was older, almost a teenager, when he
learnt the truth about Exaltation.
The dragon was never allowed to return, they had to fight a
never ending war for their god, if they fell in battle, their god
would rip them out of their grave and force them to continue
the war. It scared Anomaly beyond any means, his believe in the
eleven gods was shattered, for he had thought of them as
benevolent, mercyful beings, not as what they really were.
Beings, more powerful that anything he could ever imagine
that played war with the souls of mortals as their toys.

The turning point for Anomaly came, when his parents and
his entire Clan suddenly announced to him, that now it
was his turn to be exalted. Anomaly refused immediatly, he
paniced and shouted that he would never ever become a
toy for a bored god. Unsurprisingly, his Clan didn't took
that well. They - his parents included - chased him out of
the lair, banished him with the words, that he had dishonored
his god, that he was unwanted and ungrateful.

Alone and terrified, Anomaly wandered the Lands, tried to survive
on his own only to miserably fail. He never learnt how to hunt,
or fish or even fight. All he could do was to care for youngsters,
to craddle them to sleep, to sooth minor wounds with kisses and
soft words. It was his luck that some of the Scouts of a Fire Clan
picked him up when they did, they brought the scrawny, hungry
Snapper back to the Clans Lair, where the healers took him under
their wings and allowed him to regain his health.

Despite being terrified of Exaltation, Anomaly offered his services
to the Clan that had saved his life. Much to his relief, they chose
to use him as a Guard and Caretaker of their Hatchlings, something
that Anomaly knows how to do.
