A quiet brook, a bubbling spring

Spring forth across this land of green

Silver fish flash o'er the bed

Of a sleepy stream locked in a dream


Sunlight filters overhead

Through newborn leaves and breeze unsaid

The warmth is just a whispered word

Upon the grass, the blades untread.


What a peaceful place, I concur

To lay among the oaks and the firs

A pleasant last sight for my eyes to have seen

As the time ticks away and the world fades to green
