A companion of Jack as well as a fellow liberated slave, the mysterious Skydancer appears to be some sort of samurai. He carries a blade with him, but doesn't seem to appear to remember where he got it from, or how his body had been modified to this...rather disturbing extent. Quick-witted, cheerful and with the reflexes to back up his mischief, he's often the bringer of laughs to the many denizens of Light as well as his grouchy Longneck friend. He claims to be named 流沙, flowing sand like the scraps of memory he often wakes up with and yet somehow can never get a concrete hold upon. His helmet hides his allegiance, but rumors have spread of how the nameless Skydancer is actually born of the Lightweaver's grace- and yet, not even Jack has seen what's underneath said features. It seems as though the Skydancer prefers to keep his face hidden. More rumors had surfaced of the Skydancer being so horrifically disfigured that he cannot show his face, but neither have truly been clarified by the cheerful cyborg, continuing to entertain and make a livlihood through dangerous stunts and selling his services with the blade as a sellsword...even if he doesn't quite remember how he had obtained his skill with it. In reality, he was one of two surviving clones of a certain Skydancer scientist, who sought to use stem cells to create eternal life. As his clones began dying one after another, the desperate and ailing scientist sent his final creation to Lightning and had the body of the clone argumented (very painfully) to prolong their life as much as possible. However, the Lightning comrades had chosen to erase the Skydancer's memories- thus erasing all the research and intelligence the original had and leaving the current clone a husk of their former self. Some people speculate the second clone no longer exist or was killed amongst the original's research, but nothing has truly been confirmed. Even so, Liusha continues to does his own business, cheery and eager as per normal. He would've never guessed that taking his helmet off would cause him even more trouble than he would ever be able to fathom... |
