Few names within Myansi get so varied reactions as Avani's. Many members remember when the small mirror was an enemy of the clan - vicious and skilled, continuing their assault with no regard for their own state. That said, many members remember when Avani could speak as well.

While the connection between Avani's former Master throwing them aside and the extreme damage to their throat that renders attempts to speak coming out glitchy and croaked (often with coughed up blood) is ...undetermined, the General of Myansi laid out that she wanted Avani considered one of theirs in no uncertain terms. And like the few demands Mao ever makes, the silver haired general's demand was met with minimal grumbling from the clan as a whole.

Agender, grey ace, and grey aromatic, there are some that refer to Avani as "Triple A" because of this. There are a few things for certain:

Avani is mute, mostly. Horrible damage to their throat means attempts at speech result in croaked words and hacked up blood, so they sign instead. That doesn't keep them from being fluent in sass and cursing - and yelling by way of bodily gripping someone's face to make sure the signs are seen. Mute and highly violent, Avani is the only member of the clan where it's preferable to deal with an uncaffinated Thayne over them.

Constantly angry and often bitter, Avani can be a hard person to interact with for any length of time. It gets worse periodically - a loud rattling sound occasionally accompanies them, and there are periods where their sclera bleed black and they get even more brutal than normal. If asked - Radia refers to them by a different name at that time, but won't give any more detail. Avani certainly isn't ...talking.

Rumors abound through the clan that Avani is the source of one of the native monster species, the body horrory Euclids. That the monsters are part of Avani. They won't confirm or deny this, only snorting and stalking off when asked.

Despite ...everything else, it's plain there's more than the eye can see when it comes to this tiny terror. Calls for help almost regularly see Avani coming to the aid of other clan members and strangers alike, with an irritated spate of signing declaring that others need to be able to save themselves and not rely on being rescued ...while Avani is actively going out of their way to rescue others. If asked about this habit, the small mirror looks almost ...wistful for a heartbeat, and then quickly gets violent as if to dissuade that line of questioning.
