Isokel is a former traveling warrior training for a leadership position in Sword Fern. She is incredibly strong willed and won't hesitate to speak her mind, a quality greatly valued by the clan leader, Gaia.

The swamps of the Gladeveins were oppressively humid. Everything dripped with an omniscient wet, every piece of clothing and armor was soaked, every claw that touched the ground was slicked with every shade of mud.

The party made slow progress, even the spiral of the group was subdued, treading carefully. The most disgruntled member of the party though, was a fuming pearlcatcher. The pureblood practically hissed aloud every time her claws touched the saturated ground, her dripping mane was plastered to her skull. When the next step resulted in her sinking into ankle deep slime the pearlcatcher finally screeched at the group,

"Why are we here?! We haven't seen a single Maren this entire excursion!" A lanky skydancer near the front of the procession sighed, fighting against the impulse to roll her eyes.

"As was pointed out previously, Zertia," She started, only to be cut off.

"As was pointed out by a damn swamp...thing! I think the Sneak just wants to return to the muck from hence she came and wants to drag us with her!" Zertia screeched, glaring into the back of the aforementioned bogsneak's head. At this point the skydancer almost pressed her face into her palm, only stopped by the sight of the filth dripping off of her steel clawed gauntlet.

"I'm sure Isokel would much rather be here without you, Zertia." The spiral piped up unhelpfully from a nearby boulder.

"Vero!" The skydancer interjected, only to be talked over again.

"And as Winry tried to remind your delightful vapid mind, we're here because we're not in search of just Marens, we're trying to get within range of the Maren base without having every spear in the Gladeveins tossed out way. And I'll remind you that you didn't have any better suggestions when Isokel proposed this back route."
