______ The Corpse Queen might be made of something darker than flesh and bone, but her cherished daughter is proof some bonds run deeper than blood. Epitaph was raised as Vesper's firstborn, and the affection between the stalwart Guardian and her eerie, cackling phantom of a mother is plain to see.

______ She's an Earth-eyed pragmatist with a head for numbers and a lewd sense of humour. A strange leader, perhaps, for an unruly Plague clan, but it's widely recognized that no one else could manage to keep a clan composed of diverse factions of corpse-eaters and nomads surviving - much less thriving.

______ The Guardian's greatest strength is her unwavering devotion - to her mother, to her clan, to her bitter elder son and to her sickly youngest child, whom she loves deeply. There are those in the clan who pray that deep well of loyalty will not be her undoing.
