B I O G R A P H Y

When Azalea broke free of his shell, his father Rosebud let out a cry of pure joy. One of the first children post raid, a healthy, beautiful, pink hatchling. A hatchling that looked like him, with inquisitive hopeful eyes. A good omen and a fresh start embodied by one perfect small dragon. Azalea’s mother Lawless, examined his wings and found them to be strong. She noticed his claws were already sharp, and his appendages lithe. Yes, he was a good omen. A hatchling who was built to be a great warrior--like his mother. His siblings stood farther back, catching glimpses of pink and listening to the occasional small sounds of shock and surprise as Azalea discovered his wings and tried to walk. A baby brother, who knew nothing of the tragedy that was still fresh in their memory.

Azalea learned almost immediately about the raid. First memories including closely examining the scars on Lawless’ flank, or accidently learning what spots were still tender on his siblings bodies when he played with him. He would fall asleep to stories filled with the names of the dead, which he learned along side those of the living. Sometimes, he would wake up in the middle of the night to arguments between his parents and siblings about whether they should stay with Clan Valtura or begin to wander again.

From his father, Azalea developed a love of painting and a deep appreciation for little details. His mother helped him become independent, and someone who thought well on his feet-- encouraging Azalea’s siblings to begin dragging him into play fights (which sometimes felt very real) earlier than Rosebud would’ve liked to see him be involved. Azalea became physically and mentally strong, quickly developing strategies for survival and success in both matters of clan/family politics and in physical confrontations. As he got older, he began to spend more time on his own, really only desiring the company of his father when they would paint together in near silence.

B I O G R A P H Y

One day on a solitary flight over the Wispwillow Grove, Azalea ran into another Wildclaw. Her eyes a piercing blue, staring at him inquisitively through the skull of a bird she wore over her face. Immediately on guard, all of Azalea’s muscles tensed. She seemed a little wary too, her voice low and slightly shaky as she introduced herself. She explained that she was doing some hunting and gathering for her clan--specifically for the mushrooms that were scattered throughout the Grove for one of her Imperial clanmates who appreciated glowing food.

Azalea and Neytiri (the other Wild Claw) fell into a comfortable conversation as they continued to fly around the grove. After establishing of course, that neither one meant the other harm. Azalea was shocked to discover that Neytiri was the only other wildclaw in her clan, and that he was the first one of her kind she had talked to in a very long time. He had of course, lived with other dragons breeds in Clan Valtura but he had never gotten to be as close to them as his own family.

When Neytiri said it was time for her to return to her clan, Azalea felt a sudden strange feeling wash over him. His heart beat fast, and his wings felt as if electricity was coursing through each vein within them. She was gong to where there was a group of dragons which included inventors, dark magic users, prophetesses, and deep sea divers. The call to experience something new was too strong to resist, so he asked Neytiri to wait for him while he gathered his belongings and said goodbye to his family. Rosebud seemed a little disappointed that Azalea wanted to go, but couldn’t bring himself to convince his son to stay. He always believed in letting someone follow their heart. Lawless on the other hand, was very encouraging hoping that this new connection would be beneficial to the Roaming Rioters.
