Biography

XXXXXXXX
the antivan crows
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
XXXXXXXX
XXXXThe water is gray. The sky is gray. The coasts are gray. Yet the wealthy who make the decisions, they are the epitome of color. Red robes, golden jewelry, sparkling wine glasses as they grow plump and get drunk. Their parties are obnoxious but enjoyable, and the food, from glistening turkey to fresh corn on the cob, is plentiful. It can be hard to fathom that this place, that our home, was created by sea traders. Pirates, if you will. By thievery and violence. It still retains much of what they created. Trades born in piracy, the occasional legitimate deal.

XXXXThose who rule our home rule it all. They manage the finances and brush the urchins deep into the trenches of the city. On especially quiet nights, you can hear their ragged breathing down the alley if you dare to venture out. From a distance, the small houses, they look peaceful. It looks like a place you would raise your children. Oh, how naive you are to come here. The danger is far greater than the profit you make from a trade. You'll get robbed and beaten, if you're lucky enough to receive mercy from them.

XXXXYou may be wondering at the cause of the danger. Who would dare attack innocent travellers? The truth is that the streets themselves resent your arrival. You are not welcome here. Though neither are we. The poor who grasp at your ankles and beg you to give them a scrap of your meal. We don't matter. Those who do live at the top of the city.

XXXXNow as you wander our lonely streets, there are several things of interest to note. Back alleys and around corners, you will see figures quickly switching hands. No one knows what they trade amongst themselves, and most would assume food. Be cautious as you take a turn, you may feel eyes on your back. You won't see them, of course, but you'll be certain they are there. You'll want to run and escape, but there will be no such luck.

XXXXSome say they are protectors. Others, dangers. No matter the truth, the Crows will always be watching. No intruder dares attack our city or invade our homes. The House of Crows is too powerful, too watchful. Anyone who dares attack even the coastline or a ship on our horizon, they will face the dreaded guild. Mysterious though they are, they never miss. Nothing is more deadly than angering one of the Crows. If you were so unfortunate to anger all of them, I only hope they'll offer you mercy and finish you quickly.

XXXXYou may pass by a streetlight at night, and a shadow may fall over you. Whether you feel violated or protected is entirely your own choice, but you will know you're being observed. You will know a Crow is watching. The princes, they don't call them a threat. They know that their trades, their commerce, is protected so long as they are here. But everyone else knows they are lethal if they are called upon.

XXXXIt's not a dangerous place, our home. Just many dangerous people. So should you ever stop by the home of pirates and pillagers, recall this warning. Without knowing the skeletons of our past, your run in with the Crows could be an unpleasant one.
