Wave: land-bound, trapped traveler (?), walks with caution

Wave and Charlie showed up on Asima's doorstep after traveling together for a day. Charlie considers him her best friend, while he has settled for only being mildly afraid of her.

Despite his impressive wingspan, wave is unable to fly as the joints in his wings lock up and cause terrible pain after more than a very very short flight. He has compensated for this by just walking everywhere on his legs because that is what they're for. He left the Wind kingdom after a few too many helpful dragons tried to 'fix' him with such amazing tactics as: tying him to kites, feeding him horrible tasting potions, and the ever popular, knock him off a cliff and he'll get flapping he's probably just lazy wait oh no why isn't he.......WHOOPS.

And so, since his love of his homeland was overridden by the need to never see the bottom of a cliff again (it is impossible to sneak up on him now though. And he can climb like nobody's business), he went traveling out into the world.

After years of traveling he was working as a translator and selling his traveling notes to cartographers to pay his way. During one job he heard of the floating islands in the Arcanist's lands and took a keen interest. Things in the starfall isles tended to be poorly mapped considering that some land formations tended to disappear or straight up walk away during certain times of the year. A great treasure making opportunity for a young adventurous dragon.

He bumped into Charlie about 5 miles into the Arcanist's territory.

At first he just thought that she was a friendly traveler, they even had similar conditions as Charlie couldn't fly either due to a strange ever-changing reason and walked alongside him, but after talking to her more and more something seemed...off. Nothing particularly alarming, just little things that didn't match up with her past and clan. An ongoing feeling of dread when he was around her. A strange feeling that he should not sleep when they stopped to rest.

He didn't even notice when they arrived at Asima's. They shouldn't have been headed towards any residential areas. Charlie told him upon their arrival that they had been headed there the whole time. That they had talked about it on the way. That she knew how tired he was and this was a great place for them to both rest. That it must be the arcane energy in the air messing with him. That an Arcane dragon like herself wasn't affected so he should just follow her.

Wave didn't remember any of this. Also, wasn't she Shadow?

Charlie smiled.
