When Cheerio first left his birth clan it was, as is the case for many a Guardian, in order to begin the journey of searching for his charge. He spent many years searching and discovered many loves, but nothing he cared for so deeply that it could be called his charge.

Cheerio thought about it long and hard and realized he was pretty happy with his life without a charge, and didn't feel like he was missing much. He came to the conclusion that his search just wasn't worth the time it had taken.

Cheerio began the journey home, simultaneously glad his search had reached an end and worried what his father would have to say about his decision to remain chargeless.

Turned out he didn't need to worry, as when he returned to the clan grounds he found out his father had left to serve the Stormcatcher. The rest of the clan were glad to have him back, and seemed far more focused on getting details of all the adventures he'd been on than the fact that he had returned empty-handed.

Cheerio remained with his old clan after a great battle destroyed the clan's lair and the leader made the decision they would move to join with Grazia, an allied Light clan.

He was offered a place in the Golden Guard by Mathra but, much to everyone's confusion, refused the honor. Many in the clan think him a fool because of this, but Cheerio knows he doesn't belong on a battlefield. Instead, he guards the main entrance to the clan grounds and intends to start a family with his mate, Mynx.
