Long ago, Laume allied themselves to Neius, the Leviathan, a lord of the sea, eternal and unwavering. Although millennia have passed since the time when a young, capricious sprite and a massive, hungry beast pledged their friendship to each other, their relationship has only grown stronger with time. When they were younger, Neius' protection granted Laume the ability to trick and play as they pleased, indulging their pleasures and crafting their illusions and delighting in their own strength. Age brought maturity, but don't ever mistake Laume for a servant of Neius; they have always stood on equal footing, and Laume is not so far removed from their home and people that they would draw away from an even greater deception.


If you walk along the shoreline in the light of the moon, watch your step. There are lights dancing out on the water, and the whisper of a song on the night breeze, and they will beckon to you. Keep your feet firmly on the sand, keep your gaze off the horizon, keep your loved ones in your heart. If you turn out towards the sea, you will see gardens blooming across the water, silver pale in the moonlight. If you head out to greet them, you will be greeted in turn by stars that swirl into sharp, white-teethed smiles and flowers too sweet to be pleasant. If you stray too far from the shore the waters will part to swallow you down, gardens and starlight and all.
