Biography

aGEuQJ5.jpg
shes barren and unable to have children and thus no mate wants her. She found these two out in the wilds and have brought them into the clan and is teach them how to not only interact with others but is starting to love them like her own children.

Lidiya was hatched as any would be. She was happy, well fed, and safe. Her home was warm and her family was kind. She had many aspirations as she developed into a young lady. She would meet a nice dragon, have offspring, and live happily ever after. Who would say otherwise? Besides fate, some would say. As it turned out, she could not have the children that she wanted nor could they give them to another. She was as a sandy field is, Barren and unwanted.

This Realization crushed Lidiya inside. A barren dragon cannot continue a bloodline or carry an heir to wealth or power. They lived and then they died. Lidiya didn’t want to just fade away into the sands of time. She had no choice in the matter, however. All the pain in the world wouldn’t give her children or perhaps it could.

Lidiya, as she grew older, had nowhere to be and nobody to be with. She would find a place and reflect on everything, the cruelty of the gods, the unfairness of life, and the selfishness of those around her. What made having children so important? She regretted not having an answer. Her tears did not go ignored though. One dreary day, as she sat weeping, she heard a sound. She glanced up to see two little faes watching her.

They crawled ever closer until they were within a few meters. They watched Lidiya with unconcealed fascination. Tears continued to stroll down her face as the two further reminded her of her woes. One of them dug around in the mud and came back with a beetle. Though lamenting, Lidiya took the beetle gently. She smiled falsely. She was not sure if the gift actually meant anything but she started to feel a little bit better. The other one proceeded to throw a beetle as well which almost made her giggle. Her tears dried and spoke, “Thank you.”

The Twins watched in awe as Lidiya stood and left. She began to hum a tune she had not sung in years, not since she was an hopeful young woman. An unfamiliar ache awaited Lidiya when she returned home. She longed for something. Though she could think not of what it was. As she pondered, she realized what it was. She slept more peacefully than she had in years as she anticipated the next Dawn. As light returned again, Lidiya returned to the wood. And so it went for many a day. Dawn to dusk, Lidiya would be with the twins.

Lidiya brought candles and she brought hats. She read to them and sang to them and talked to them. They didn’t understand but she spoke anyway. She had to leave every day though and it stung Lidiya. Something began to form inside of Lidiya. A joy perhaps. She had somebody to be with. Two dragons in fact.

One day, in Particular, was unique to Lidiya. Something had been gnawing at her for some time. She talked to the twins and read to them as she usually had. As dusk approached once more, she left. Though before she left, she turned her gaze back to them. She felt something for the twins. She didn’t know what it was. She gestured for them to follow her and so they did. On either side of her as she returned home were her children or at least the closest thing she had.
