- I am a long way from home, although I must confess 'home' was never my preferred descriptor for the Windswept Plateau. It is in our nature to wander, I suppose, but still, the care-free attitude of my denmates hardly ever aligned with my own constant need for order. 'What is the point in making lists all the time'? They would say. Ha! I am searching for a place that appreciates lists.

- I journeyed through the Scarred Wasteland at risk of my life. It was not prudent to write while I was there, with so many dangers lurking around every corner I could rarely settle for long enough to pick up a quill, and to take off my protective gear to write comfortably was not wise. Not a place I plan to return to. But I write to inform you I have acquired a new friend. He is very small, unlike me, and prickly, much like me, though rather more literally than figuratively in his case. I have called him Speedy. He runs after my quill as I write. It is charming. We are moving towards the Starfall Isles together.

- I have taken an interest in regional fauna. Having travelled to four different regions now, I feel equipped to begin a proper study. It is difficult to gather data alone, however. Well, not alone, but Speedy is far too small to be of much help beyond lifting my spirits. Which is appreciated, but does not advance my learning much.
