Rakkan

Rakkan is a caretaker, though at times she wishes she wasn't. Her sister Ruin is haunted by the curse of plague: everything she touches begins to wither away and die. For reasons unknown, however, Rakkan's very presence seems to curb her sister's rot, and so by her side she must remain. She is loyal and would not abandon her ward, though she would be lying if she didn't say that she resents her position a little. She longs to travel and adventure, and looks on to her carefree brother Rexar with no small amount of envy. He is wild and free, and she is caged by responsibility. At times it makes her sullen and irritable, but she is far too mature to abandon her position, so she does her best to manage the family. Her efforts ensure that they all live if not in happiness, then at least in peace. In her free-time--what little of it she gets--she researches medicine and natural remedies, hoping against hope that one day she will find something that will cure her sister and free them all.
