Xephras has a humble origin, she was raised by the Eternal Brimstone clan's head scholar after she was rescued as an egg. Her egg is the only known survivor of a series of monster raids in the northernmost territories of Dragonhome. By the time the clan reached the isolated mining towns, it was too late. Striking with vengeance the clan eliminated all the monster's in the area, and Xephras' egg was found in the hobble of one of the beasts .

Being raised without knowledge of her past, the clan's elders appreciate that Xephras strove in documenting everything around her. Soon, however, Xephras tended to disappear for hours at a time to an unknown location. This caused fear in the elders that Xephras had given up on her achievement in recording knowledge and had been following other pursuits. This is far from the truth, Xephras had discovered that she had an ability that would make her dreams more easily into reality.

Xephras had learned that she had the ability to communicate with magical lifeforms with unique abilities. These lifeforms soon bonded with Xephras due to her kind hearted nature and started blessing her with their powers. Their main power they shared was the ability to transport themselves and others into a pocket dimension roughly the size of The Tangled Wood. Agreeing to help Xephras in her quest to record all knowledge, they turned this dimension into The Grand Library.

Xephras' ability had often been used to help the clan expand it intelligence, Xephras tutored everyone from the littlest hatchlings, the oldest leaders, and the strongest warriors. It was when however a rogue faction of the clan attacked that Xephras learned that her power could be used for more. Facing the life or death of a class of a dozen hatchlings, Xephras and her friends were able to transport all of them safely into The Grand Library. This realization of power had made Xephras even more important allowing anyone to view her vast and ever growing library of knowledge.

Many wonder how The Grand Library is quickly filled with knowledge even though Xephras never seems to write anything down. Her trick is the life forms she befriended can instantly record any information and create a tome with the knowledge in the library. Soon the library had expanded as much is could in every direction around it, they shelves started to grow upwards in order to make up the much needed room in The Grand Library. This library is large, and it never stops expanding in every direction, a dragon not in tune with the dimension itself would easily get lost for years.

Xephras is popular among every dragon in the Eternal Brimstone clan, due to her intelligence and kind hearted nature. Befriending every dragon allows for even more knowledge to be gathered in Xephras' library. Xephras' kind hearted nature also leads her into trouble, her knowledge can easily be used for evil and it has. Juice, a witchdoctor and headmaster of the clan had learned the location of her forbidden tomb from Xephras' Grand Library.
