Cast out of his original clan for disobeying the rules of their strict hierarchy, Kirlith grew to his majority alone in the harsh environment of the Shrieking Wilds. During this difficult childhood, he met Sasarath, and together they carved out an existence for themselves in between struggles for their lives. Then, one particularly rough day, Kirlith and Sasarath were fighting a losing battle against a horde of highly venomous Serthis, and losing quite badly.

As they backed against each, prepared to fight to their deaths, a great bolt of arcane energy roared out from between the trees and decimated the Serthis. That brilliant purple bolt was closely followed by an equally purple Snapper dragon, who introduced herself as Palinth, an acolyte of the Greenskeeper.

In awe of her skills, Kirlith and Sasarath followed Palinth back to her home in Everbloom Gardens, just on the edge of the Shrieking Wilds. She seemed amused by their presense, but when they asked what they could do to repay her for saving their lives, she merely smiled and said that she was only doing her duty to the Greenskeeper.

Kirlith decided, then, that he too would do his duty to the Greenskeeper. He was ready to head to the Behemoth and exalt himself into her service, but Sasarath managed to convince him that he would be doing a far greater service to the Greenskeeper if he could help other dragons, particularly hatchlings and fledgling that were abandoned by their clans.

So together, Kirlith, Sasarath, and Palinth formed a clan that would come to be known as the Keepers of the Lost Wyer. There, they took in young dragons that had no other home, and taught them the ways of the Greenskeeper.
