Navara has always been obsessed with stars and Arcane magic. So when a wandering magician stumbled across her drowsy, glassy-eyed birthclan near the Tidepools, she hopped onto his caravan and never looked back. He taught her to how to read bones, the stars, shadows, and she learned to pick out omens from nature. Until, of course, she witnessed real magic, and learned that this Imperial "magician" was a fraud, and been teaching her cheap carnival tricks, meant to awe ignorant dragons out of their treasure. And he--this thief had been content to trick her out of her own life. He had been content to let her believe she was helping dragons, by reading their futures and helping them harvest good crops.

Furious, angry, and embarrassed, Navara fled from the caravan into Starfall Isles. There, she traveled, lost and uncertain, to find a real mage and learn from her. To her luck, she found one. At first, Navara thought the Pearlcatcher was a fraud as well. She was too hesitant to accept truth from other dragons now, until she saw, with very own eyes, the Pearlcatcher grow a seed planted moments ago-- in a matter of seconds. Rekindled with awe, Navara literally begged for the Nature-aligned Pearlcatcher to apprentice her. The Pearlcatcher did. The mage's name was Cassi, and she taught Navara Arcane magic. At first, it was hard for the water-born dragon, but she found a way through it. The young Fae, in a desperate attempt to succeed in magic, tampered with its raw form. She tried to ingest it, wanting to force it into her body, since she was not born from a magical line. Of course, Cassi had no knowledge of this. Navara's plan worked, for a while. Until she realized any spells cast, any magical words uttered, took from her reserve of raw magic. And soon, it would run out. This had never happened before. Her carnival tricks never put her in such a tire, and even before she started dabbling in raw magic, her little spells didn't even wind her. Panicked, confused, and frustrated, Navara debated telling Cassi. She had no doubt her mentor would be disappointed. After all, it was Cassi who taught her about raw magic-- mostly why to stay away from it. So Navara also debated ingesting more. But raw magic was hard to find. It was usually found in dragons and beasts, and even then, only the strong, magical-born ones carried enough of it.

Navara is now one of the greatest Mages in her corner of Sorneith and enjoys her solitude. She has never forgotten what it feels like to be betrayed, and now she has a deep-rooted hatred of performance magicians and travelling caravans. .
