B I O G R A P H Y

______ Kasshokami, the creator. A spirit of terrifying power, he and his sister have existed for longer than time itself. They were the first beings, born into existence from the nothingness, and from the nothingness, they created. He created. Kasshokami lives by the philosophy "all that lives in the mind, should be set free to live in the real." He is always thinking, creating, giving. At heart, Kasshokami is gentle and kind, and only wishes happiness among his creations. He does his best to fulfill their wishes, and often begs Kurokami to allow him to make some of his creatures immortal, to which she always turns him down, then lectures him on the importance of death in keeping the universe stable. Kasshokami always had a hard time understanding why death was a necessary part of life, but he still knew that his sister was only trying to keep his planets and systems stable when she took a soul back to the void. However, when Kurokami allowed her brother to live unattended on one of his worlds for a few years, he grew overly attached to a certain creature. A beautiful white-winged wolven beast he had called his masterpiece. But time continued on, and his favorite being aged and fell ill, and when Kurokami came to bring the creature back to the void, Kasshokami would not step aside. Kurokami once again tried to explain why death was necessary, but Kasshokami refused to listen. And so began the warring of gods. With each blast of magical energy that struck the gods, the planets and stars around them became darker and darker, until the two pooled everything they had left into one final burst, and sent it flying at each other. The blasts combined into an explosion felt across the universe, and the planets and stars around them turned fully black. Then eyes. And movement. Terrifying, unnatural movement. The two, exhausted from their war, stared in horror as the new creature arose and devoured the planets they had been birthed from, along with everything on them. The gods attempted to fight it, but soon found that it was immortal, so they retreated to planet after planet, regaining their strength and fending the thing off as much as they could.

______ Eventually, Kasshokami and Kurokami made their way to Sorneith, where they found that visits from the Shade had left traces in some of the dragons. Those with the greatest amounts of Shade in them gained immense powers, and even immortality. These dragons who had risen above the rest were seen as gods by their followers, and even had a small ability to create. While the two were unable to live as equals with these gods, they did find a small clan in the Tangled Wood who had also been affected by The Shade. Maybe not quite to the extent of Sorneith's gods, but they found the clan acceptable to study, so they took physical form and joined the dragons.
