Early Years
Stardust spent his young life traveling. His family, originally from Viridian Labyrinth, felt the need to migrate to the Tangled Wood for nesting. Once he and his siblings hatched, they migrated the long way back to the Shrieking Wilds touring through Sunbeam Ruins on the way.

Perhaps the Ruins were not the best place to take an impressionable young Shadow dragon. Stardust doesn't remember much of the trip because of his age, but he remembers standing close to the Hewn City, evening dark despite the midday sun, and listening to the abandoned ruins groan. When they arrived back in Nature, he stood on the edge of the treeline, awestruck by the size of the trunks, and fancied this too was a type of hewn city, but grown instead of carved. He could hear it here too, the groaning of things unseen.

They are Everywhere
It's a fact of Nocturne biology: they're natural mimics, picking up mannerisms of those they are around. This attribute makes them social chameleons, likable to many because imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. But what if you were around the unseen most of the day, stalking what cannot be, listening for what most cannot hear?

Against the advise of many not to chase down this mystery, Stardust became relentless in trying to find these hidden things he heard shrieking at a distance and casting shadows close by, but were not seen. He became like them, a quick flitting shape through the trees, a moment of light in the wrong place.

Unsettled, his clanmates ejected him from the clan, but this didn't concern him. He wasn't one of them, not really. He was one of Them. And he is going to find Them.
