Early Years
Shortly after Maelon's birth, both her parents felt the Call, and went to their Exalted stations to serve the Gladekeeper. She became a ward of the clan, and was given over to Antinonsense for raising. This struck the young spiral as odd, did they not love me? and she never really forgave her parents for leaving her.Being raised by the clan matriarch had its perks. She was given access to the best tutors and raised knowing clan affairsthis is so boring. They don't actually care about me. However, she disdained her position, and would often escape her lessons and run out into the jungle. One such trip she located an outlaw group who are these dragons? maybe I should tell some--- oh no, they spotted me, and instead of turning them in, she joined them. They convinced her to go back to her tutors and learn all she could, then bring the system down from the inside. She made regular reports to them for a time about the clan and its functions, and then one day when she went out as scheduled, they were no longer there they never cared about me either. I thought I was useful. After that, she dropped her studies altogether and became a wild element, stealing from the clan when she could get away with it, and living on the fringes.
Starvation
Maelon never really learned basic survival techniques, gleaning off the clan was the only way she survived. When a bad season hit and food became scarce, hunger drove her back to her clan, where she discovered her brother Eden was in charge of clan stores. Playing contrite, she begged for an extra portion, swearing repentance for her wrong ways and that she would make it up to him he's really a fool, he should know me better by now. Moved to pity, he aided her, and he aided her again when she pulled the trick a short time later.Well fed, she packed a bag stolen, of course. I don't own a bag and left in the night, never to be seen again.
