______ The first memory Katie has is waking up in the nest, blinking the dreams out of her eyes, and seeing her younger siblings' limp bodies around her. Her second memory is running through the forest, desperate to get away from it all. She should have been awake, she should have been watching them, if she had only woken up earlier, she might have healed them before it was too late. It was the only thing she was good for, why couldn't she have just woken up sooner. She'd been given her divine gift from the Gladekeeper and wasn't even strong enough to use it when it counted most.

______ After being taken in by Delphi, Katie's life seemed to do a complete 180. Though Del never gave her messages from the Gladekeeper, Katie knew that she was on the path to Atonement. She spent her downtime in the temple garden, tending to the flowers and stray animals that wandered about. Coven meetings were tense, and she tended to stay by Del's side through them, uncomfortable with the blood and death magic that the other dragons tended toward.
