Minae

Microlore: When she was born, her body was infused with elemental silver by the sages of her birth clan. She grew up learning to Hunt the undead and lay runes to seal sacred places.

She hates it. She would rather the dead be left to others, and the pressure of living up to the legacy of her ancestors makes her feel claustrophobic and uncomfortable. She would prefer to live somewhere safe from the curse of her home lair.

She would love to shed her history and start anew, to travel and arrive in anonymity in a new clan, to learn new skills, and craft a new life far from the horrors of the tombs in Cairnstone.

Minae left her birth clan in the dead of night as an adolescent, leaving only a note to explain why she left. She didn't want to leave this way, but it felt like she had no choice. The pressure of her ancestors' achievements bearing down on her; she had no want to continue hunting the undead and sealing sacred places.

She flew until dawn broke when she could fly no more, settling down in a small clearing just shy of the border between Dragonhome and The Tangled Wood. She slept fitfully, having a hard time fully justifying her actions. Several times she woke when rustlings in the bushes became too loud, always fearful she'd be dragged back. Eventually she gave up on sleep and wandered into the Tangled Wood. She knew there at least she could get lost and hopefully find the anonymity she desperately craves.

A few days past before she fully realised how bad of an idea getting lost in the Tangled Woods was. The lack of restful sleep was beginning to plague her mind, the lack of a decent amount of seafood curled her stomach.

One week past before she stumbled into Dolus weak and delirious. Maculare, the clan's healer, tended to Minae until she was strong enough to be on her own. It took some time, and with nothing to do, Minae eventually told Maculare her story.

"Dolus is a great clan for those wishing to wash away their past. Speak with Syrlyn, our current leader and he can help you."

The Coatl really had no wish to tell her story again, as the more who knew the less anonymity she'll have. Still, better to have a clan leader know now than to find out on their own. It took her a few days to gather her courage.

After explaining things, Srylyn of course offered Minae a fresh start with the condition that if absolutely required, Minae would defend the clan against undead or spirits. She accepted and soon began to learn a new trade.

Years passed as the Coatl settled into her new life. She became proficient in silver smithing in record time due to the infused silver in her body (it was almost instinctual for her). She was happy with her lot in life. She'd occasionally hear about her old clan and aside from the small twinge of guilt every now and then, she felt nothing. Minae had come to love Dolus and if given the chance to change the past, she wouldn't change it for anything.
