I'm pretty sure this writing is mega cringe from years ago but I'm too tired to reread it xoxo:

‍ ‍ ‍ ‍ ‍ On a gathering trip, one of the clan's members stumbled upon a lone Nature egg. Seeing that it was still alive, it was scooped up and carried back to the lair, where everyone peered at it in awe and wondered where this poor egg could have come from. There was barely time to think before the egg began to rock back and forth and the bud at the top split open to reveal a tiny Fae hatchling. Its bright green eyes looked up fearfully, observing the massive world that now surrounded it.
‍ ‍ ‍ ‍ ‍ Pileju peered down at the hatchling sadly. "Who on Earth could take care of him? He has nobody, nothing..."
‍ ‍ ‍ ‍ ‍ There was a pause. The surrounding dragons all shifted their gaze away, feeling sorry for the lone hatchling but still unwilling to take him under their wing.
‍ ‍ ‍ ‍ ‍ The next moment, a young Skydancer pushed her way through the small crowd. She had a serious air to her, but her gaze softened as she looked upon the hatchling.
‍ ‍ ‍ ‍ ‍ "What a poor sweet baby..." She gently swept her wings around him to shield him from the many piercing eyes. Her mate Rhain appeared beside her.
‍ ‍ ‍ ‍ ‍ "You don't plan on being his mother, do you?"
‍ ‍ ‍ ‍ ‍ "Oh darling, he needs a family..."
‍ ‍ ‍ ‍ ‍ "But are you sure that you can do this? You're still recovering from..." his voice trailed off.
‍ ‍ ‍ ‍ ‍ Alumina gazed silently at the hatchling, who had already started trying to stand on its thin, wobbly legs. Without a word, she scooped him into her arms and took off in the direction of her and Rhain's hollow.
