Biography

NIGHTRISE
High Priestess of the Moon

Nightrise's early life was a sad and lonely one. Having been born into a large, powerful Shadow clan, her lackluster magical abilities caused her to constantly be swept under the rug. The majority of her hatchlinghood consisted of her constant attempts to please and be recognized. In her desperation, Nightrise studied a form of magic that was no more than nifty illusions and tricks in a final effort to win over her family's respect. But, of course, to no avail.

Throughout her childhood, Nightrise only had one true friend: the moon. Just above her bed was a tiny break in the Tangled Wood's foliage, just enough to allow a perfect view of the moon in all of her glory. Nightrise would spend hours a night praying to and worshiping the one thing that always doused her in light.

Her seventh hatching day came and went with little celebration. Now that she was an adult, Nightrise could follow her dreams without hesitation. As the moon rose, she left home without a single goodbye.

Nightrise traveled North for a short time until she came across a friendly Guardian-Fae couple protecting their only hatchling in the Viridian Labyrinth. They were wary of the young Pearlcatcher at first, but soon found comfort in her unique stories about the moon. "Lie in her light and she shall guide you. As she changes, so may you, but remember that you will always become full again."

As the clan grew, so did her pride. Basking in the glory that she never received as a hatchling, Nightrise became rather vain, but never to an unbearable point. After their great migration south, Nightrise stood on a ledge overlooking the ocean just as the most stunning full moon rose above them. From this day, she declared this clan the Moonchasers, to which they happily obliged.

Nowadays, Nightrise is the most prominent religious leader in the clan. She and her mate Ulysse (the handsome Tundra from down south) pride themselves in bringing guidance and hope to the clan, each member of which they consider family.
