Observations & Notes: Subject 2278 has proven to be a rather... troubling subject. It is, we suppose, not unexpected to get such a result from such chaotic parents combined with a young invocation. Careful handling and continued study are paramount.
Her powers became apparent the first time she touched an object other than her pearl. In this case, it was a glass of water, which immediately turned to stone - including its liquid contents. Extensive testing has been done on this object and all others she has touched, but we can neither find a way to reverse the effect nor detect anything strange about the items aside from their origin.
This made testing understandably difficult, and we had to replace a considerable amount of the equipment we use to measure and study hatchlings. Luckily, proximity does not seem to have a similar effect - direct contact is required.
That has been our only luck thus far. While Subject 2278 shows no trace of malice or even really understands what she can do, we have had to reassign multiple researchers after they made the mistake of touching her. We have hope that the effects of her touch are reversible on living things, but results at this time are inconclusive.
The only exception seems to be her pearl and other Runecatchers; these she can touch without any consequences. We think it may extend to other Pearlcatchers but have been hesitant to test this, for obvious reasons.
Further study is recommended, and we cannot overstate the importance of caution when working with this subject.
