  He is, and will always be, part of the earth. Because sand is time and time is fiction - because Baru does not believe in changes, in differences - in too many things, that would be easy to understand. His place is here and nowhere else, but his heart is there and lost. His skin is covered in dirt and dust, his mind clouded with promises.

The snake coils around his egg, seemingly void of life; whatever was within the once glowing egg must be long dead, eaten away by the parasite - the Shade - that had nestled itself within by now. A hatchling could not survive all of this, this struggle it had without even being born - and the egg starts to rot and fall apart, right next to his ever healthy siblings; that he will never meet.

His form however shifts - there's a hole in the ground where his remains were withering - and a golden Nocturne greets him, and offers him a claw. Baru does not know by which means he was born, but inside of him he can feel the Shade pulsing; and he tells his 'saviour', a magician of sorts. No explanation was given to him, instead he was left alone with dragons that should be similiar to him. Clan Polaris.
