Arun Career Trait + Trait + Trait "I'm telling you, monsters aren't born, they're made." -CJ Roberts It was always the same whenever Dyrim asked if they might one day produce children; Raz would give her an incredulous look, rhetorically ask, "Are you crazy?" and return to her work. No, Raz would not have children. No matter how many times or how Dyrim asked, it was always, "No, I will not bear you a child." It took Dyrim many seasons to think, "Perhaps we could adopt." She didn't expect it to come upon her at the horrible time it did, but nonetheless, she had the idea. When passing near the edge of the Scarred Wasteland while she was off gathering ingredients for Raz's latest project, she discovered a lively egg that cracked too soon, producing a hatchling that would never breathe. A golden opportunity for those who were in their field, even if others might be horrified. Stealing away with the stillborn hatchling before anyone noticed, she brought it to Raz and claimed, "If you won't bear one, then create one." The Skydancer's eyes lit up and she got to work immediately; soon, the small Imperial was breathing, golden markings lighting along his side as he opened his eyes and gasped in his first breath. Raz watched in silent amazement, her mate casting her spell over the young one, and the deed was done. The question remained, however...could it be raised? They named the young one Arun; he was very different from the other young ones, rather lethargic instead of playful, offering only dark glances to those who came to him with bright, excited eyes. He was very much set apart from the rest of the world, growing and developing at a slower pace. Above all, he avoided play and mirrors. When he spoke, it was very choppy, his voice rough. Raz and Dyrim may have brought him to life, but it seemed it had happened against his will, and his heart quickly grew dark, raging like a summer storm. He sought out only destruction in the world, whereas his adoptive parents sought out creation, strange as it may have been. Perhaps the problem was that Arun was never quite complete; despite Raz being certain that he was among her most perfect creations, if one were to look closely enough, it was clear something was missing. What it was...? It was hard to say. -Written by SilverFoxDemon Arun felt an urge to travel and destroy everything in his path, so he did just that. He traveled a long way from his lair until he met a beautiful Nocturne named Rosetta. He felt something he had never felt before, but he couldnt tell what it was because of his apathy. No matter what this feeling was he knew he had to follow Rosetta everywhere she went. She led him to the lair saying she would give him what he was missing: a true soul. Rosetta led him to a dragon named Charene who was the lairs mage. |
