^{WintersEnd is one of the more powerful mages of Clan Reverence, largely performing her own work as a freelancer hired by the clan. She is given access to the magical archives in exchange for lending her power to the Court as requested.

Into the new and into right’s ark,

Frozen footsteps embark.

Cold. She was cold. From the blood in her veins to the ice that sprung forth from her claws, she was cold. It was numbing, chilling, biting, and somehow too far gone to be ice. Unmelting but unfrozen, moving but not feeling, amidst the flurries were ruby pools deeper and darker than her wings, and she stood statuesque in the center. The battle had been so intense that the blood had drained into pools around the bodies, leaving their scales as pale as cut porcelain.

She didn’t meet their glassy eyes. Her breath slowly froze around her, and no one knew how long she waited there.

Was this what victory tasted like? She felt so empty. She had set out to save them, to right the wrongs of a leader who had cast so many out to their deaths. Her parents. Now…

Now, they were all dead. From the ones she had tried to save to the dragon who had started all of this to begin with, but it wasn’t just them who had paid the price. Her gaze dropped to a pale purple mith toy and the small, still figure clutching it.

She crumpled onto herself, burying her head into barely frozen slush that crackled at the touch.

Victory, the one who had killed so many suffered the same fate.

Defeat, no one she wanted to save had been freed.

Sacrifice, all the rest of the clan were killed to pay the price. The clan of WintersEnd was no more.
