I had been traveling for months now, searching and searching for a worthy charge. Just something worth protecting. My Contaminated Ambassador Aslieth hissed in anger from atop the trees as I gazed up towards him. Man he really did have a temper today but, then again, a couple months travel was sure to make anyone angry. We were running low on coin and food and with little to hunt in the area our options were running short. “I’m sure he’s nice” a short giggle caught me off guard as I lurched around. Prepared to strike out should the need arise but… What’s this? Straight before my eyes stood a female wildclaw with the most unique pattern to her scales. Bard like attire adorned her and a unique flute was strapped to her side. With deep intrigue I watched as she came closer, her Companion nervously pawing at the ground with its hoof “Hi there” she chirped as the Cerdae beside her nervously struck the ground once more. “Um… hi?” I questioned in turn trying to contain my urge to jump the little morsel before me. Sure, Cerdaes could be tasty but… I didn’t want to try my luck and risk a fight here if we could find another means. Aslieth was tired and the two of us were weaker than normal due to a lack of rest and food. “Is there anything you need help with? You look a little lost” she snickered with a carefree tone. My god, was she blind, reckless, or just plain dumb? The trust she was showing towards an intimidating stranger such as myself was simply surreal “Well, my Companion and I” Aslieth descended from a tree branch and hung in the air behind me to stare at the girl “Could use a bite to eat, but other than that we’re good” I remarked. Thinking only of gaining her trust to steal the flute in her possession. Something about it just seemed so… magical… and it had to be if Aslieth had that gleam in his eye. Looking back over my shoulder I could see it, a strong sheen of interest passing through his gaze. It was decided, that flute was worth the trouble and its price would be high. With it, we could enchant crowds for their coin or simply pawn it off for the much-needed treasure and gold “Oh ok! Why don’t you set up camp with us then? We have plenty of food to share over the fire!” she chirped as I gawked at her. Her flute shooting out flames along with a whimsical tone to create a pit of fire alongside the moonlit road. She began pulling out different herbs and plants whilst paying little attention to the two of us. Stealing her magical flute was going to be far easier than I originally thought.
