Do not exalt! She’d gladly return to her home clan!

Uh-oh, looks like this little daydreamer wandered a little too far from
her home lair (Strangeflesh/576542), and now she's off to see the world! If ever you feel the need to exalt, she'd really appreciate it if you could just return her to the home lair, or to the 'Dragons Off To See The World' thread, here. This is not necessary, but she would be very grateful!

Travel History
Ever since Dream poked her little snout of her egg, something in her mind kept telling her there's more out there somewhere. she looked at the stars and started thinking

"There is more to this world than just this land."

So after persistent questioning, pleading and coaxing her parents finally allowed her to fulfill her dream, which was to travel. And so, this marks the beginning of her journey, one where she'll enter different lands and learn different cultures.

The underground dragon trade was not a kind place for the young. Dream found herself stolen off the road just as her journey began, stuck in a dark place that made it very hard for her to see who had captured her. She was cold, alone, and scared. It seemed that she would be passed on to others who had less than pure intentions. That idea terrified her.

"Psst!"

A soft voice caught her attention, but where had it come from? She could see no dragons in the dark cave around her. Dream moved her eyes around once more before she caught sight of a crown floating in the air a few yards from her. Believing that she was hallucinating Dream rubbed at her eyes, looking back to see the full body of a small fae floating in the cave with her.

"Come with me. I'm busting you out!

The fae turned and darted toward the back of the cave and Dream felt compelled to follow. Nothing worse could come of the situation, what did she have to lose? As they delved deeper in the cave, a soft light could be seen from a stone wall. Dream and the fae grew closer and she could make out the details of an unknown rune caved into the wall, glowing with magic etched into the stone. The fae pressed a hand to the rune and the stone wall vanished, revealing an outlet to a sea side cavern. The fae let her out to the sandy beaches, waves gently crashing along the shore.

"There are others I need to help, please be more careful in your travels young one."

The fae gave her a kiss on the head before darting back into the sea side cave, leaving the young dragon alone on the beach. She had been saved from what ever dark fate lay ahead of her and now looked forward, cautiously, to the horizon. The sun slowly began to peek over the edge of the sea, bringing with it new light. A new day.
The next location this dragon traveled to brought much warmer company. A cave of travelers as well as others who seemed to reside more permanently welcomed her. She watched 4 hatchlings grow up, one that was a traveler herself. She enjoyed this place much better than the last, but her travelers instinct got the better of her and she was off in a few days after much needed rest and food.
When Dream went to her next lair, she found several travelers there, and decided to travel onwards with a new traveler who was nervous to continue onward. He seemed friendly, and Dream thought she might enjoy the company. She moved on along with Aneurin after resting and relaxing with the friendly dragons at this lair.
Aneurin proved to be one fierce fighter, often lighting up the night with his light magic when the beastclans tried to attack them when they rested too close to their villages. Dream got in a bit of fighting experience herself.

Their wings ached, and she appreciated the cool sea wind over her feathers as they flew over the beach. Usually the other dragons left them alone, but they found the sunlight suddenly blocked out.

"Greetings!" A huge guardian greeted. Aneurin squeaked in nervousness but quickly got in-between Dream and the guardian, despite being only the size of the guardian's head. "Oh, don't worry, just saying hello!" The huge guardian backed off before gliding under the two, his entire wingspan longer than both of theirs puts together. Dream was tempted to land on them.

The two skydancers could tell that this guardian was calm, and struck up a conversation with him. His name was Heath, and he allowed the two to ride on his shoulders over the sea to his clan in the water.

"Wait, we're all not water dragons!" Aneurin exclaimed, "We can't breathe underwater!"

"The Kaimu clan's territory is enchanted, don't worry." Heath rumbled back, landing into the water with a thunderous roar-wave of water, "You'll both be fine."

Dream accidentally took a breath in suddenly-rushing bubbling water... and it didn't hurt. The bubbles did make her sneeze, though, and tingled against her feathers and scales pleasantly.

Dream, are you alright?! Aneurin exclaimed telepathically, coughing out bubbles and flailing around to tread back to the surface instinctively. He realized that yes, in fact, he can breathe, and blinked distraughtly at Dream.

"Relax, it's just like air." Heath's own voice rumbled through the water, "Hold on, I'll take you to the clan leaders." He gently lifted a wing towards them, his fins splayed out for balance in the water.

'His breed's birth flight fit him,' Dream thought, taking Aneurin by the hand-claw and leading him down to the wing. He pressed against her side a bit for security and both of them rode Heath's wing into the depths of the sea.

Eventually they spotted other dragons, who mostly ignored them, but a few called a greeting to Heath, who rumbled one back. Aneurith was terrified and casting somewhat longing looks back to the surface, while Dream seemed to be in a daze, looking around at the towers and mazes of beautiful coral decorated with seashells, the swarms of cleaner fish that did not seem to be afraid of the dragons, and the waving sea plants that hatchlings and younger dragons darted in and out of.

"Newcomers!" A wiggly spiral screeched happily, "Want me to take em off your claws, Heath? Oh, how long are you two staying?! Would you like a tour? Are you hungry-?"

"Skyforest, I'm taking them to greet Charcoal and Galaxy first." Heath said patiently.

"I'll come with you!" Skyforest declared, and latched onto his wing right besides a still very nervous Aneurin. He presence seemed to attract other dragons who asked both Dream and Aneurin many questions. Dream happily did most of the talking while Aneurin did most of the listening and watching. Heath had no trouble being a transport for the smaller dragons.

The primary leader, Charcoal, was a wildclaw but still twice their size. And Galaxy was even a bit bigger than Heath was! Their meeting was brief, just a greeting and laydown of some rules: don't kill anyone, don't steal from anyone, and stay away from Blanc and Eryl because they have a contagious very fatal blood disease.

After that, Skyforest took them both to a cave of their own to rest in. Dream and Aneurin curled up together for warmth and safety in this new, mysterious place.

They first stuck together, but as Dream started to play more often with the hatchlings she began to develop a bond to them, and a promise to protect them. After promising to be mates if they met once again, Aneurin left her in the Kaimu clan to pursue his own travels.

Dream quickly considered Varden, Underworld, and Shifer to be like her little siblings. She enjoys playing with the smaller coatls, and they've grouped up with her and regard her as a parent or big sister. She spent her days playing games with them, exploring, gathering interesting things, and chatting with the other dragons.

After a while, the three coatl grew up and went to go on a journey of their own! After receiving a gift for watching over the clan's hatchlings in the form of new markings, Dream followed her heart and flew on.

She returned to her home clan, where she was welcomed with open wings, however so,etching was wrong... Her mother was nowhere to be found, and when she asks the others they all try to change the subject.

She soon found out her mother had lost her mind, and was a shadow of her former self.

One day, her mother came back, bringing a strange sickness that was quite contagious, her whole clan fell into a state of starvation. They struggled for months but they became too weak to hunt. Dream gave up her apparel and traded them for food in hopes of helping out in her clan.
She then decided to leave on another journey, thinking that the clan would be better off with one less mouth to feed.

Dream had journeyed far beyond the boundaries of her homeland. She stayed in the inn of a harbor town, the owners never once begrudged them for her extended stay. In the years she spend in in the town, she had cared for many young hatchlings. As is an experienced and trustworthy caretaker, many of the town's working dragons left their hatchings for Dream to look after. She has met several travelers during her stay, exchanging stories of their journey and experience. Which in turn, makes for incredibly exiting bedtime stories for the younger hatchings!

When Dream had first landed among the glowing fungi of the grove, she was pleasantly surprised by the pathway of lanterns illuminating the way. What she hadn't expected, however, was accidentally running into a spiral and her Garden Watcher with a resounding OOF!. Dream scrambled to her feet to help the spiral immediately. "I'm so sorry, I wasn't watching where I was going!" She had said. The spiral chuckled and looked at her, making Dream realize she was basically looking through her. A soft gasp left her mouth as she connected the dots and realized the spiral was blind. "There's no need to apologize, dear. I seemed to have strayed too far from the clan, chasing that silly newborn imperial." The spiral had said, her garden watcher nudging her toward the right direction. Dream kept beside her, keeping small talk even when a small imperial had joined them. "That must be Calamity. He and his brothers were just recently hatched, and he's definitely a handful." The Spiral, who had introduced herself as Munana, chuckled softly. She had explained to Dream that she was the elder as well as the denmother - hatchlings seemed to adore her and in turn she cared for them when her clanmates were unable to. Dream stayed with the clan for a while, watching the three hatchlings run around and learning a lot, telling stories of her travels to the hatchlings and catching the attention of a few adults as well.

The day she decided to leave and continue on her journey, the hatchlings were quite sad. She gave each of them a pat on the head. One of them gave her a necklace, which she slide over her head immediately so that she would always have something from them close to her heart.

With that, she was off on her next journey.
Dream arrived to a small stream and was drinking from it when she notices a Imperial nearby, the two get to talking and the Imperial introduces himself as Goth and says that Dream should come to his clan for a few days. She agrees and when she arrives she is amazed by the small bamboo woven dens and the beautiful flora. The main population were Fae but that didn't mean the larger breeds of dragons also didn't have the same type of dens, they were quite spacious and could fit a full grown Imperial with room to move around freely.

After a good nights rest Dream got to know the residents and even other future travelers, the two being Finn and Renee, the children of another traveler who had traveled off already. Dream told them to always be careful while traveling, much like the Fae had told her in the past.

But so soon after she arrived it was already time to leave as her travelers instinct told her it was time to travel again. She said her goodbyes to her new friends and they told her she was always free to come back and visit. Finn gave her an Ornate Gold Bracelet as a farewell gift, she thanked him and put it on with pride knowing she had friends within the Wind Flight.
