Biography
The Viper
The sun glared above you, erasing all shadow and wringing you dry. In the haze before you, you can make out a stone outcrop. One side was undercut, creating a shadowed area. Eager to be out of this blasted heat, you pick your way across the stones to the base of the formation. Peering underneath, there seems to be just enough space for you to curl up comfortably against the cool stone. You crawl under the overhang and arrange yourself, trying to kick away loose stones to make yourself more comfortable. A stabbing pain shoots up your leg and you cry out. Looking among the shadows, you see a bone white viper staring back at you, crimson eyes glittering in the darkness. It reared up, preparing to strike again as you hastily dragged yourself out of the hollow. Once outside, you examined your leg, already feeling woozy. Two pinpricks broke the skin, and they bled excessively. Your leg throbbed painfully and you felt weak. Your head swam and if was becoming increasingly difficult to breath. Pain coursed through you as your vision went black around the edges. Out of the corner of your eye, a pale shape slithers away into the wavering heat.
