Aranea is an aspiring herbalist, travelling and exploring into the ways of honoring and using plants of power.

Aranea was hatched while her parents were staying with a Wind clan. Her mother tended to travel frequently from the time that Aranea was old enough to be away from her, as she was an adventurer through and through. Although she missed her mother when she was gone, Aranea loved getting to hear about all of the different adventures her mother had, as well as what sorts of plants she encountered on her travels. Her father always said that it was these stories that influenced Aranea's decision to leave home and start traveling on her own once she was old enough.

Aranea's relationship with her father is rather strained, unfortunately. At first, she was interested in his work and wanted to know everything about the plants he used. As she grew older, however, Aranea was able to see that her father was just conning other dragons, claiming that his herbs would be the miracle cure for all of their ailments and then leaving before they realized that his 'cure' did absolutely nothing for them. Despite his claims that it was her mother's adventures that spawned her need for travel, Aranea would tell anyone who asked that it was because she couldn't stand being part of her father's cons any longer.

As an adult, finally on her own, Aranea decided to become a true herbalist and actually help all of the dragons that her father conned. It is a work in progress, as there a very many plants in Sornieth, some of them still unnamed and with unknown properties. This thirst for knowledge is part of why she settled into an Arcane lair, as their curiosity in their pursuits matched her own. So far, she had researched an impressive array of plants, but she has no intention of stopping until she found cures for each of the problems affecting the dragons that her father had conned.
