Lakes is a practicing mage from the Water Flight. He recently moved to Light and was allowed to make a small pool of water outside the clan temple. He uses this pool for his practices and to relax. The pool can only fit so many dragons, but on hot summer days Lakes finds some would like to join him.

Solari is across his pool, with her pool of lava. Both Solari and Lakes are in their pools for most of the day, so they find themselves talking to each other. Fooling around and playful insults are thrown too, since they are natural rivals. Solari also likes to watch Lakes practice his water magic.

Secretly, Lakes does adore Solari. But he feels he cannot tell her due to their rivaling flights and her dislike of water.
