Ah, it seems you have met Grim. Try to stay alive, while I go fetch Qimugta.
Stay away from her Unhinged Jaw, if you want to live.

Oreo descends slowly, wings outstretched as he lands in a small clearing among the towering trees of his childhood home. His eyes glow a faint ocean blue, softly illuminating his surroundings. The wind ruffles his feathers in a comforting “welcome home” gesture.
On spring nights like this one, the sky blue flowers that decorate the gnarly tree branches of the Starwood Strand bloom with a gentle radiance. When the sun rises again the next day, the flowers close up into rosy flower buds that whisper promises of brilliant blooms once the night arrives yet again. As the days pass into summer, the petal tips of the forest’s flowers become tinged with pink. It is a captivating, ethereal sight, and it’s one of Oreo’s favorite parts of his home.
The cicadas buzz quietly as Oreo observes the dragons sleeping peacefully around him. Thanks to the dream keeper of the Strand, dragons under the keeper’s watch can enjoy peaceful slumbers every night. As is his nightly routine, Oreo picks the brightest flowers closest to him to bring to the dream keeper of the Starwood Strand as a thank you offering.
Oreo gathers the flowers with one arm and makes his way to the tallest tree of the Strand. There, a lone coatl bathed in pink light sits on the highest branch of the tree in a deep trance. Oreo mumbles a few words of appreciation, drops off the flowers by the coatl’s feet, and moves to leave for his nest before he is cut off by a small whimper from the keeper. Oreo turns around to see the dream keeper’s face contort into a pained grimace and then morph into a muffled expression of fear.
It is the dream keeper’s job to inhabit and maintain the realm of dreams. Every night, the dream keeper enters the dreams of hundreds to chase out nightmares and to bring out pleasant memories. Most think of the dream keeper as a sacred being who should be left alone to do their own divine work, and so the keeper is always, alwaysalone. Oreo knows all of this, yet one look at the vulnerable face of the keeper breaks every previous belief that he had of the dream keeper.
Oh, Oreo realizes with a jolt. How could he not have known? The keeper sifts through hundreds of nightmares a night, most of which are likely intensely traumatic and jarring. Of course a single dragon, deity or not, would never be able to get through that every night without suffering from something in return. And without interaction with the outside world at the same time?
How many long years had the keeper been watching over the Starwood Strand’s dragons? How many nights did the keeper spend crying alone? How many nights did the keeper have to suffer through alone? Without hesitation, Oreo reaches out to lightly brush the dream keeper’s shoulder with a comforting touch. The trance is broken and the keeper’s eyes snap open. The light that the keeper was bathed in dissipates, and Oreo’s softly glowing azure eyes meet the deep, powerful carnation pink eyes of the keeper. Oh, Oreo realizes for the second time, drawing his arm back in surprise. He had never seen the dream keeper’s eyes fully open before.
“You were in pain. It looked like - ” Oreo explains.”It looked like you were scared of the dreams,” he adds.
The coatl nods in affirmation, silent as the moon.
Oreo continues on, “And I wanted to make sure that you were okay... Because if I were to have bad dreams too, I would want someone there to comfort me too.”
“Here! Have a cookie,” Oreo offers, pulling out a packet of cookies from his satchel. “Whenever I would have trouble sleeping as a child, I would always sneak cookies from my family’s food storage for a late-night snack.”
The coatl’s eyes soften in response as they reach out for the cookie. The dream keeper takes small, hesitant bites from the cookie, smiling hesitantly when the cookie is finished. Oreo hands the keeper several more cookies. The keeper and Oreo run through the rest of his satchel of cookies relatively quickly, although it is Oreo’s large bites that render the majority of his cookies eaten.
The tension in the coatl’s small body slowly leaves their body as Oreo continues to talk about his late-night childhood snacks and his siblings. At one point, the keeper laughs shyly, and Oreo is so glad that the keeper isn’t suffering alone anymore.
An hour passes, and the last of the cookies are finished as the moon reaches its peak in the sky. The dream keeper looks at Oreo in an almost bittersweet manner as Oreo puts his satchel back around his waist and stands up to take off to his nest.
“If you ever feel sad again from the dreams you see, you know, you could always come to me,” Oreo offers. The eyes of Oreo and the keeper meet once again. The keeper’s eyes are twinkling as the keeper eagerly bobs their head in a nod in relief. The keeper’s eyes reflect the brightness of all the flowers of the Starwood Strand combined, easily overpowering the glow of Oreo’s eyes. Oreo vows to make sure to do anything in his power to make sure that the light in the dream keeper’s eyes is never dulled.
Later that night, Oreo swears that he can hear the same warming laugh of the dream keeper echoing through his dreams as his dreams light up with his memories of sharing midnight snacks with family and friends.
To make it a little easier to understand the lore, some key points you should know:
The dream keeper is my permababy Lullaby. Anytime I refer to "the coatl" in the lore, I'm referring to Lullaby, not Oreo since I know it gets confusing because they're both coatls. Lullaby is neither male nor female, which is why I refer to Lullaby as "they" in the lore.
Lullaby
I love the Starwood Strand because of its glowing flowers that play a big role in the lore! Since your lair is located in the Starwood Strand, this lore takes place there as well. (glowing flowers... so beautiful!)
Lullaby doesn't really speak, which is why Lullaby does not say anything in the lore.
And that's it! If you're unclear about anything in the lore, don't hesitate to ask!
