About
This is a more detailed information resource about monsters and fighting in the world of Event Horizon.

Event Horizon's key element is monster battles and fighting. From the World & Mechanics post:

"The blight upon the world of Event Horizon, these creatures only come out at night. They are all identical in shape and size, but not in mind. Some prefer to work alone; others may choose to work in packs. Monster encounters may be dictated/written by you, but every night you will encounter at least one (unless you have a card that states otherwise). Difficulty - the number of monsters your character gets - will go up by one every 2 RL weeks. It is possible for difficulty to go down (you will know as I will tell you specifically if it does. Otherwise assume the normal +1 monster per two weeks system). It doesn't stack: if several dragons are working together, the difficulty of monsters encountered will be that of the dragon with the highest difficulty.
Ex. 5 dragons work together. One of the dragons has a difficulty of 4, the highest in the group. The entire group will only encounter 4 monsters.
Your character will die at difficulty 12 if you are alone.
Difficulty resets in each area.
Night starts when I say so. I will post that night is starting."

Here, we will summarize how the monster encounters work.

When encountering monsters, you will indeed write them yourself. Your dragon will fight them as well as they can. They may or may not be injured during it (which is certainly plausible, considering that they are monsters - don't be OP, please). Difficulty - the actual number of monsters - factors into this. A lot.

At difficulties one and two, your dragon is guaranteed to win. Only minor injuries may result from this.
At difficulties three and four, the fights will be more challenging. Moderate injuries may come from this, minor injuries will occur, and your dragon will have a 2% chance of death.
At difficulties five to seven, the chance of death increases to 15% (bizzare, I know, lol). Severe injuries may occur, moderate injuries will occur.
At difficulties eight to eleven, your dragon has a 50% chance of death. Severe injuries will occur.
At difficulty twelve, your dragon is dead.
Again, difficulty is affected by the number of dragons in a group. This means that the chance of death is affected by difficulty as well.
Ex. If the highest difficulty of the group is 4, then each dragon will take on the fourth difficulty (2% chance of death).

Injuries may be present but they will not affect the overall probability of character death during combat. They will affect your dragon's ability to successfully gather food during the day:
No injuries: 100% chance of successful gathering
Minor injuries: 99% chance of successful gathering
Moderate injuries: 85% chance of successful gathering
Severe injuries: 35% chance of successful gathering

Injuries will go down after four days of successful gathering (ex. two days of gathering: moderate injuries go down to minor injuries).

The severity of your injuries is up to you. Remember, you are not OP; that's why there are weaknesses on the application for this.

If you have Card V, no monster battles apply to you. You will not get injuries.
If you have Card II, you will have no injuries after you are brought back to life if you die.
If you have Card III, note: you will still fight monsters, unless you convince them not to. Monsters are aggressive and rude, but they have a chance of being convinced not to fight (a 25% chance, to be exact).
Gathering applies to everyone.
