Water Subspecies: Seafloor Reflections It is not uncommon to venture amongst marrows of old bones in the Fishspine Reef and stumble across such a slumbering dragon. These dragons are slow to wake, and some who have slept for years may never awaken at all. The first Reflection dragons was a pair of magic wielding dragons who ventured into the Fishspine Reef after the ancient battle. Exhausted and without any strength, they fell into a deep slumber, kept alive by their own magics, and over time the light that filtered to the sea floor left imprints on their skin, creating a lattice-like network. Buried and forgotten it is only now that more clans have moved in, that these dragons start to be discovered. Most of the Reflections who are discovered are left undisturbed, although some clans consult the old one for knowledge beyond their time. Given how they lie on the sand, sometimes covered by it, Reflection dragons are often mistaken for part of the debris in the Reef, and young dragons are usually the ones who find them as they explore. Depending on the depth and area of the dragons, Seafloor Reflections have patterns that range from patchwork to swirls. Dragons who sleep at a deeper depth will have darker patterns and colours. |
