The citizens of Alverton were not happy to hear that an ex-con would be moving into the town; even if the report said he was under surveillance, most residents are aware that the police force in town is severely understaffed, and don't trust them despite the recent changes in management. If crime rates are already at an all-time high, surely opening the gates to a known murderer is just asking for disaster. But, since he's come to town, nothing's happened that can be pinned on him... Yet.

Remus isn't much of a talker, if his dental work didn't make that apparent; the larger than normal ridgeback seems fine to let his presence and reputation speak for him.
