Biography
Volatile | Sensitive | Animated
Samsara was found on the edges of the clan's territory, bleeding from multiple wounds and near death. She was alone and without possessions save for the enigmatic sapphire and silver jewelry that donned her form. The scout that found her quickly discovered that she could not be parted from these treasures, and soon the entire clan knew she was cursed. Brought into the sanctuary of the clan's domain, Samsara was nursed back to health before being given the ultimatum that most dragons of the clan received. She agreed immediately and enthusiastically, even though she did so without words--for the curse which lies upon her and the jewels adorning her body silences her speech as well.
On some days, Samsara can be as gentle and innocent as a hatchling, watching with rampant curiosity at the goings on of the clan's other members. On other days, she is horrific, her tantrums holding no equal. They appear to be a result of severe frustration with her condition, which is a mystery to even the most skilled magic wielders of the clan. Some of the brightest practitioners have inspected the wards and magical chains that hold her. Naviki has deduced that they cannot be easily broken, for they have been bound to Samsara's very essence. Her mate, Iah, has determined the same, but is more optimistic about breaking the curse.
Either way, it will take a long while of recording the structure of the curse and subsequently unraveling it, assuming a practitioner is skilled enough. Samsara doesn't seem to know why she is cursed or who cursed her, and also seems to have a gap in her memory the length of many days before she was found by the scout.
Nherva cautions strongly against breaking whatever spell holds the skydancer prisoner too quickly, for they know little of her origins or what she may be capable of. The curse laid upon the skydancer not only prevents her from speaking, but it also seems to dampen her natural affinity for sensing the auras of others and using magic herself. Knowing that, it is understandable to most why there are bad days when she takes out her frustration with tooth and claw on anything that gets too close. There are others that also fear the true scope of Samsara's abilities, though none have so far been paranoid enough to attempt to thwart the work of the spellweavers that are attempting to break the wards.
