Laurelin is the feisty friend of Luthien who tagged along with her and Beren when the two were returning from the Starwood Strand. Laurelin does not really have any idea of tact and says what she wants when she wants. She can be abrasive and hard to hang out with, but somehow Luthien finds her amusing rather than provocative. The plus side of this is that Laurelin accepts no one's bs and does not tolerate derision or bullying toward anyone. She absolutely cannot stand dragons like Thestral and Ludwig who she thinks are completely full of it and has gone on a tear against them more than once.

If one can get past her snippy comments and explosive temper, Laurelin proves to be protective and compassionate, even though she may not be the best at expressing these sentiments.
