Pythia

Pythia came from a well-respected family, and mated to a well-respected Bogsneak knight in an arranged marriage to unite the families. So many dragons in the same circumstances lament their lot in life, bemoaning the fact that they did not get to choose their mate freely, but Pythia is quite content with the match. She had not really ever put much stock into relationships and she knew it was the norm for the families in the area in which she lived, so when she was told that a suitor had been chosen for her, she barely reacted at all. She thought that perhaps she would have a cool but distant relationship with her mate, coming together to have children, but spend much of their time engrossed in their own pursuits. She found herself being quite surprised, then, when it turned out that Metallica was a very attentive and even loving courtship partner. Even though theirs was to be a marriage of convienience as so many were, by happy chance both found themselves to be extremely taken with their assigned partner. It did not take long for the relationship to blossom from a simple alliance into true affection and passion, the fires which still burn in their hearts even so many years later.

Her formal education did not cover sign language, and so she has had to learn it directly from Metallica himself in order to communicate with him. Neither of them have minded this arrangement, however, because both greatly enjoyed spending time with the other. She uses as much as she can, but even after years of study still sometimes finds herself having to finger-spell things. Metallica was quite proficient at lip reading, and so Pythia was able to have an easier go of it than she might have otherwise.
