personality
Moab is incurably curious and adventurous. He is never afraid of new things (if he is, he embraces it and uses that to fuel his spirit) and absolutely has to try everything he hears about. He loves doing this with a group, or at least a partner, and is always pestering the other gatherers to do things with him. He finds a solid adventure partner usually in Dekhei - Moab doesn't mind her fascination with finding dead things while they're out and about.

history
Nerd had returned from her trip to Dragonhome and had requested an egg. This was very unusual for the coatl, but the others had long since learned not to question Nerd. She hatched the egg and declared him 'Moab' as he tumbled out, brown as the Cairnstones, a tiny little fae. As he grew, Nerd told him stories from Dragonhome, and sent him to talk to Beore about the time that the clan had lived there. Beore eventually sent him up to Founder's Point where Eztli and Saan spent most of their time.

After hearing everything these older dragons had to tell him, Moab found himself longing to explore the Dragonhome for himself - the crags and deserts and barren plains of stone called to him and he had an intense desire to give in to them. He begged Nerd, who told him that a little fae by himself wouldn't last very long, and the clan couldn't spare anyone else to go with him. So Moab slipped into the bamboo forests of the lairlands and began to train. He neglected his wings and ran clumsily through the stands on paths made by the passing dragons. Sometimes he would literally run into a dragon travelling to or from the lair - most of them shook their head at his insanity and ignored him. Runesoul, who had the pleasure of being run into more times than any other dragon (because of her frequent coming and going), began to take an interest in the weird little fae.

She asked him what he was doing, and he explained that he needed to get strong so that he would be permitted to explore the Dragonhome, and then the rest of the world. Runesoul smiled and wondered how long this obsession would hold him.

Months later, with Moab still training as hard as he could, Runesoul came back from the market and purposely dropped a scroll on one of the paths that she knew that only Moab travelled regularly. Sure enough, he found it about an hour later and cracked it open. Gone was the little fae, and instead a mirror stood in the same place. Moab sniffed the air and stretched his new legs, strong from the running that he had been doing for what felt like forever. Confident in his new appearance, Moab took off running, leaving the clan behind without so much as a 'may I' towards Nerd or any of the clan leadership. He found his way through the Wasteland and into Dragonhome.

Once there, he explored everything. He climbed into every crack and cave and over every arch and plateau that he saw. He spent numerous days underground in old tunnels and abandoned lairs. He even found the modest beginning of the clan that he came from, the numbers 103435 still carved in the rock wall. It was small, and he couldn't imagine the large clan living in this space now.

His last stop in Dragonhome was the ruins of the Pillar, still impressive even in its broken form. The shear size of it took his breath away and made his whole journey feel exactly like the adventure it was supposed to be.

After taking it all in, he ran home again, and reported to Nerd. She was, surprisingly, not upset with his disappearance. Runesoul had told Eypre about her "lost" scroll while Nerd was listening, as if she was trying to tell Nerd instead of Eypre. Nerd just shook her head and recorded Moab's story for the archives. As she put the pen down, she handed him a brochure, a large sundial on the front...

---

Moab spent some time exploring, checking in with the clan occasionally. When he returned from a particularly interesting trip to the Tangled Woods, he found that Runesoul - one of his closest friends - had moved away, choosing to move to a new clan. Moab was sad for a moment, but remembered that he could always visit, or write her a letter. But that also meant that the role of Merchant was now vacant and that someone would need to be responsible for picking up the things that the clan needs and wants. Moab supposed that he could step into that position, seeing as he was always in and out of the lair as it was.
