Abalone Shoal
Our new leader.

Abalone is the kindhearted leader of Thalassic Wings. More specifically, she runs the political side of the clan, sending out ambassadors and attending meetings all across Sornieth. She is known for her patience, yet firmly defends and stands for the colony she calls home. When not working, she helps tend to the gardens and new hatchlings in the clan, and likes to visit the dens and workspaces of the her clanmates.

Story

Abalone was born to a family of ambassadors in the fire flight, and raised around politics. As a child, she was rather meek and shy. Her first dispatch as an ambassador was to the Water Flight, as her family wished for her to go to a clan with less conflict.
Abalone stayed on the shore of the water flight for about a month, as she was far too afraid to dive into the water. Even though the blessing of Tidelord would allow her to breath underwater, she feared greatly feared drowning. After growing to like some visiting Thalassic Wings dragons, she slipped beneath the waves, and found the water quite soothing, comfortable and warm. With the help of her depin familiar, she managed to swim all the way to the colony's spire, and began to live there.
Abalone made many friends in the colony, finding each of their peculiarities fascinating and fun. She ended up being so comfortable in the clan that she decided to stay for good, her family giving her the permission to stay as a permanent abassador. But the longer she stayed in the clan, the more she noticed a serious discrepency in the clan--while most of the clan was friendly, expressive and kind, their leader Calypso was rather a tyrant, and made many of her friends stressed, anxious and uncomfortable with her demands.

Gathering her courage, Abalone decided that she wanted to change how the clan worked, for the sake of her friends. With the help of her lover, Lihira, they began designing a new system for the clan, where power was decentralized into 5 different wings--One for science and sorcery, one for warriors, one for the clan's many prophets, one for artists. The final wing would be led by Abalone, taking over over the political aspects of the clan. Each of these other wings would have different leaders, too, and together they would form a cabinet and decided the direction they wanted to take clan together. Lihira challenged Calypso to a duel for leadership and just barely won, immediately setting their new structure in place.
The clan's been much more peaceful and comfortable since the Wings were established, and Abalone took to her leadership role with passion and careful consideration. She's maintained a good relationship with some fire and wind clans, and brokered a peace deal with a light clan since.

Lihira
Abalone and Lihira had been correspondents for years before they properly met. But when Abalone finally set sight on her friend's pale wings and bright eyes, she knew she was in trouble. It only became more apparent the more time they spent together--Abalone had a crush-at-first-sight!

Lihira confessed their attraction during a long night drinking tea and watching the moon on the waves together. Abalone laughed with shock, for she felt just the same way! The two started dating after that, and have been steady ever since, often spending time in the nights and early mornings together.
