Where others took their duty as assassins seriously and with great honour, this boy has never quite felt the need for that. While he wasn't always at the top of his class, his enthusiasm made up for any failings, while also causing some concern in his instructors.
Maybe he just needs a good job to settle him down? A dragon to bond with and guard like his parents, Senior Assassins themselves, do for Ambassador Bren...
His familiar enjoys being by the campfire at night and telling scary stories although most dragons are more scared that he might be a little too close to the fire.
his familiar also ends up telling the same stories all the time and is usually up long into the night with them causing Marcus to not get as much sleep as he would like so he always looks tired.
