Biography
"Peace talks? I'm more of a 'combat' dragon. What could be more uniting than a healthy battle?"
Aerey would much rather talk with his blade than his words; the clash of steel on steel is voice enough for him, like a song born from adrenaline. It's fitting for him, then, that he's the Combat leader of the council.
He believes clans should duke it out like they did in the old days. They'd have rules and limits, of course; a clan with only brutes isn't so deserving of all territory. Friendly battles, however... the bloodshed keeps the clans healthy, and those who are young can prove themselves in combat; so much can be gained from such competition and vigor!
The rest of the council finds peace in stagnant days and quiet nights, but what kind of life is that? Where's the excitement, the danger, the very reason they live? He's expressed his view to the council many times, only to be rejected.
"That is non-negotiable. We work for peace, not war."
"Aerey, your boiling blood bests you again. Think reasonably!"
"That's not peace; it's the murder of our adolescence - We cannot stand for this!"
Rejection after rejection, his place on the council has been threatened by his unwavering viewpoint, his own sense of justice. Only one was silent at those meetings: Chemistry's son, Saja. One day, Aerey confronted him during a meeting.
"Won't you speak up? You're the heir, I say it again! Won't you speak up! You must have an opinion."
Yet, he stayed silent... That is, until after the meeting.
Saja and Aerey spoke at length about their ambitions during this time, cursing the system that shut them down so easily. They agreed that something had to change. Saja offered promises of a free system, one where councils were not so easily dominated, and where Aerey's dreams of war could become reality.
Aerey accepted his offer, and in secret, they plot.
