Biography
Surgefall Simoom Lightning Representative - Council of Flights Hunter - Draemora Castle Reluctant to lead but a natural at it. Clever, observant, quiet but has a habit of being unable to stop herself from speaking up when angry. One of the most skilled hunters in the clan and very in tune with nature. Doesn't really enjoy being cooped up within caves or buildings, especially towers like those of her homeland. One of a few dragons who could feel the coming of the Great Flame Volcano and her warnings were ignored. Key in the evacuation of the Court and thus nominated by Queen Platinum after her ascension to the throne. Hates her job, very very good at her job and has been a champion for equal rights for the Beastclans. |

Throughout the later parts of her life was one of the few active Councilors. Their complacency and decadence during the darker days of Platinum's reign was something she always scorned. Spent her last days constructing and then running a laboratory castle upon the northeastern shore of the kingdom, leaving a great legacy of predicting the storms and the changing of the seasons. Her work saves countless dragon lives even in modern times. |

Surgefall's Story
Two Algidir'ian guards sat around a campfire. The woods were oppressive and heavy with nightfallen snow, but high above them the aurora shined brightly. All was calm this late winter eve. "So the Council is meeting?" One of them asked. His companion nodded. "Aye. Of course, they're always meeting, but this time all of them have come." He was old enough to have seen the days when the Council sat in permanent residence... and to have seen them fade. His young companion's eyes were shining brightly in wonder. "Hand me that stick, won't you Byrtanyn?" "Just think Gerl! The entire Council!" The boy passed the slightly charred stick over the fire. Then disappointment crossed his face. "Oh, but we're heading away from Blue Rose Village!" Scars pulled tight across the elder dragon's face as he smiled. "Aye boy. Our duty takes us away from the posh nobility. We ride for the border, to take a message to Lady Lyanna." A different sort of reverence flushed through Byrtanyn. "The Lady Lyanna?" Gerl laughed. "Is there any other, boy?" From her position in a pine at the edge of the clearing, Surgefall stifled a laugh. The forest seemed safe enough this night, though a pack of wolves was hunting a few miles away. They had overlooked her in their pursuit of a snow white elk. It was hard to resist pursing that rare prey herself. As the old soldier reminded the youth, duty took her elsewhere. It had been 25 long years of peace. A good peace, where the common folk thrived and the taxes paid to the crown not only protected the land but built upon it. Roads now grew like spiderwebs across the kingdom, bridges spanned many a river, watchtowers peppered the hills. The crown's army was strong and the walls of each large town were kept safe by their members. As she had done countless times in her life, Surgefall turned and faced the Great Flame Volcano. Her old friend rose quiescent but ever a threat above the horizon. Despite the ice around them snow still refused to fall upon her heights. "When will you relent?" The Fae whispered, as she did every night. They both knew the answer, but still the dragon asked the mountain. |
