Margaux is the alchemist of the Clan. He hangs either in the lab or in the library, depending on mood, time of day and specific needs of the Clan.

He has taken to infusing items with alchemical energy, but this sort of thing seems unneeded in the eyes of most others. After all, real dragons who go out into the world should know enough about real magic to neither need magic items nor magic potions. Few exception granted, of course. Others think it is always good to have extra protection, and Margaux is caught in the middle of the dispute now. And albeit not being the only one so caught, he would very much prefer not to be in it at all and thus takes even more to being alone, working on things.
