Her skills cover many things. Crafting fine jewelry, blowing glass, anything that has to do with her claws she is good at. Despite the size of her claws and how clumsy she is with her hands, Azkha is actually a wonderful worker with the smaller things. Some questions how and why she is so talented, but her answer is just a soft chuckle and a gentle smile. Some even ask why she is in the clan. The answer is not what most would expect. She's in the clan because she's the seer. She also helps Banshee with her glass spheres. When the clan needs some news or some glass or some jewelry, they come to Azkha. That brings about another question: she's a rather old looking dragon but she had a lot of features that destroy that idea. She says she was around long enough to see many great wars. Yet why is she still alive? Given dragons have long lives, what she speaks of is near impossible. Little do they know there is more to this Guardian than what meets the eye. One of her spheres in her room she cares for deeply. She has a hoard of maps and feathers. A trove of fossils and stones. Shells and dried out sea life. Plants and seeds. Books and trinkets. Masks and toys. Only a few have been able to guess anything about Azkha, and those that do don't typically live long. Many years ago, she hatched in the land of Light and had heled form her precious pearl. She died in a brutal war between clans written down in history. She had foreseen her death, however, and had pushed her magic out of her to find another soul. She was hatched in the land of Water next, a mighty Imperial queen that ruled her domain for years. Her reign was rather short due to illness, and the process continued. The next life she was a Mirror from the land of Nature, but her violence was never noted. Every land. Every type of dragon. Every bit of magic she had inside of her. Azkha has been a Guardian for some time, but she remembers her past lives all too well. These lives, the past magic, give her the ability to see into the past and the future. Those she tells of her secret are bound to die, and sometimes, she has to push fate in the right direction. The skills she learned in these past lives are also helpful. She learned how to be careful with delicate objects from when she was a Fae. She learned how to read others when she was a Skydancer. She learned how to kill when she was a Ridgeback. How to rule when she was an Imperial. How to write when she was a Mirror, how to work with glass and jewelry when she was a Spiral. So many pasts had come together to give the world… her. There is no connection to her parents. Or to anyone that had offered a blank egg for her magic to nestle into. Azkha's one goal is to survive. To live for as long as possible and to never let the world tell her no. She has been alive too long. That, and when the time comes, she has to be here. With the clan she decided to join. Unlike some of the others, there was no invitation. Azkha showed up one day and got to work. Nothing could make her leave. This place was important. She had to be here for when the time was right. She had been waiting ever since her first life for the moment to come when she was needed. Someone had to be here to stop the horrors that would be unleashed upon this clan. Assassins and thieves as they are, Azkha believes everyone has the right to live. All of her works are blessed with her magic, and all of the jewelry and glass spheres she makes let her glance into the lifes of others. When there is danger, she destroys it before the threatened dragon even realizes something was coming for them. One could say it is like a grandmother's love, but Azkha doesn't agree. She is not a grandmother, for starters. She is a young dragon. Second, the reason she does what she does is for something greater than just the clan. There are others like her out there that are doing the same thing as her. Protecting clans that are important. Sometimes Azkha leaves the clan to go meet with these others, to talk to them about the dangers that will one day come to the world. The Shade is still a danger, the curses from past warriors still present. Those that use magic like her to live on are the only ones that can really protect the world. The gods and goddesses are blind to Azkha, too busy fighting over land and territory to notice the danger. But she bites the anger down. Why be angry when you can smile and cheer others up? They'll need it more than her when the time comes. ~by Dew |
