Biography

R I S E
Zali was born to a bloodthirsty pack of Mirrors like any other of her kind. Her mother and father, though they are people she refuses to speak of, were perhaps the greatest combatants in her clan and she learned much simply by watching them hunt and fight. This method of teaching could never have prepared Zali for her first kill. The first time Zali sank her fangs into a Bluefin Charger was an experience she will never forget. The act of overpowering a living thing, removing its' ability to fight, tearing life from its grasp ... it was a thrill no hunt could ever compare to. That thrill got Zali into a lot of trouble with her clan. There were times when Zali would hunt simply to kill her prey, without even bringing her quarry back for other clan members who might eat it. Her thirst for blood became a detriment to her clan, and eventually Zali was kicked out of her home by her own father. |

It has been several weeks since Zali was exiled from her clan, and she has struggled to cling to life ever since. Hunting has never been a problem for her, but if she were to accidentally stumble across her old clan again they would assume she had tracked them down and would then try to kill her. Her only hope of avoiding that fate for the time being was to move through locations her clan had already passed through, meaning that the prey wherever she tread was scarce. Finding a piece of meat was becoming more and more difficult the further into the Floes she trod. Eventually, Zali's hunger began to drain on her will to live. She was all alone, and any creature with even a slight predatory instinct could have killed her to claim what little meat she had left on her bones. Zali realized quite clearly now how foolish it was for her to kill for simple pleasure. Pleasure didn't keep you alive. She wandered the floes, struggling through each and every day until she came across a certain cold, oddly inviting cave ... |

The cave was large and wide, enough for two or three Mirror dragons to walk side by side. The ceiling was peppered with stalactites and icicles, though the ground remained strangely clear. Despite the darkness the cave forced upon itself, the bits of ice lining its' various features seemed to sparkle like little stars. Zali had never seen a place so beautiful as this ... and with the blizzard raging outside, she felt it would be more than a suitable place to rest for the night. Zali found herself able to sleep soundly that night, regardless of her hunger pangs. The cave she'd found gave off a certain ... homely chill that was hard to really describe. It was as if the cave itself spoke to her, saying "you're safe, I'll protect you". Never before had Zali felt that she needed protecting, but being as weak as she'd become it was a very welcome feeling. The blizzard seemed to have calmed down - and brought with it a live meal wandering into the cave. Perhaps she should stay a little longer, Zali thought as her stomach began to rumble ... |
